OKL produces many of Auburn Leather's hides in chrome and alum tannge by processing light native cows in over 45 colors. Leathers are available in Sides, Backs, Bends, or Double Shoulders in mill lots. These cow hides are made into chrome and alum lace or latigo leathers in 4/6, 5/7, and 7/8 ounces thickness. Dyed Surface or Struck-through colors are available in many colors including the popular burgundy and black colors. Pastel colors are also available. |
Leathers available for sale are: Lace & Latigo Leather 4/6, 5/7, & 7/8 ounces in Backs, Sides, Bends, Double Shoulders, Chrome or Alum Tannage, Surface color or Struck-through colors. Purchases can be made directly from Old Kentucky Leathers in minimum Mill Lot loads of 60 sides or 80 backs. Quantities less than the minimum mill load is sold through Auburn Leather Company. Rawhide Sides of 2/3 and 3/5 ounce rawhide in Natural (Flint) or Bleached (White/Cream) are available only through Auburn Leather in sides or die cut parts and laces. Skirting Leather Vegetable Tanned skirting leather is available only through Auburn Leather in 12/13 and 13/15 ounce thickness in sides, backs or die cut parts and straps. Strap Leather Light weight Vegetable Tanned leather is available only through Auburn Leather in 7/8 ounce thickness in sides, backs or die cut parts and straps. Latigo Leather Chrome tanned, vegetable retanned latigo leather is available in light weight thickness of 5/7 or 7/8 ounces through OKL or Auburn Leather in sides, backs, or double shoulders. Heavier latigo in 9/11 ounces is only available through Auburn leather in Burgundy or Black. Harness Leather 9/10 and 11/13 ounce Vegetable Tanned Harness Leather is available only through Auburn Leather in sides or backs. |
