Hide Processing
Hides arrive ino the plant in the "blue" (hair & flesh removed). OKL
trims the hides into desired sections needed (Back, Bend, Side, etc) and
then load hides into large drums, adding necessary dyes and oils. Drums
roll continuously, processing color and finish for each load of hides
based on project color or tannage. Hides are then stretched to go into
drying house. Once dryed, hides are separated, measured and then
transfered to Auburn Leather for cutting into leather laces or other
desired products or sold by the leather section.
